Parent Communication

There are several ways in which a staff member may try to get in touch with you. Communication means may include mass e-mails to the whole school or whole classroom, individual e-mails, paper/e-mail copies of monthly newsletters, ouch reports, proud moments, connection cards, bulletin boards. As a staff we are aware of how important it is to maintain and continue to build partnership with parents, children, and families, therefore we take great efforts to keep you updated and informed as to what may be taking place corporately with the whole school or individually with your child.

Parent's Responsibilities

Sanctuary Family Day closes two week every year for summer break.

  • When a parent wants to take his / her child / children on a vacation a notice of at least two weeks is required prior to the vacation.
  • Parents are allowed one (1) week vacation per year at half rate. All other vacations during the same year will require the full rate to maintain your spot at the Daycare.
  • Your fee is due prior to vacation
  • The Daycare will be closed one week every year no fee is charged for this week. Parent will be given two weeks’ notice reminder prior vacation
  • All children are required to lie down for a nap/quiet time each day. Your child will not be forced to sleep but will be required to lie down quietly.
  • I will assist you in the potty training of your child with the understanding that we work together, that is I will do my part at school and you ensure that the process continues at home.
  • Your child will not learn if the process is not consistent and continuous.
  • Clothing should be simple and easy to manage by your child so that self-help is encouraged; buckles, belts, overalls and suspenders are not easy for children when they are in a hurry to use the bathroom.
  • It is also necessary that each potty training child wear pull-ups since it is much easier for the child and the care provider to remove and replace.

Transporting children safely is very important to us at Sanctuary Family Day Care. Sanctuary Family Day Care in keeping with OCFS regulatory requirements regarding transporting children states and follows the following guidelines:

  • A written consent for trips must be signed by parents.

Throughout the school year parent volunteer hours will be made available through in class sign-up sheets, or those sent via google documents. Please check the google document periodically to find new volunteer opportunity. When an opportunity arises that you wish to complete, please sign up for the task via the google document.
